On Thursday morning around 4am, a local steakhouse restaurant on East Central Street was damaged due to someone driving their vehicle through the front doors.

Randy Robert, the owner of the restaurant, was stunned when his Thursday started off with a phone call from the Brandon Police Department informing him of the event that has transpired that morning. Robert has two locations of his steakhouse restaurant, one on East Central Street in downtown Brandon and the second restaurant located in south Mississippi on the coast. Robert says he received a call from Brandon Police around 6 a.m. on Thursday, telling him that someone had driven into the front doors of one of his restaurant. While the building the restaurant is located in is not a total loss, Robert says it will take time to clean up and rebuild the lobby of the restaurant despite the help from the police department Thursday morning. Robert says he is extremely thankful that no one got hurt, but he hopes this incident can bring awareness to people of the community who drive under the influence or have loved ones who could use this experience as a wake up call for them to make life changing adjustments. Brandon police has confirmed the female driver of the vehicle is alert and sustained minor injuries. Robert was relived to know the driver wasn’t harmed as life is the biggest concern always. Brandon police have confirmed that the female driver was arrested at the scene. She has been charged with a DUI.

Robert is hopefully the repairs can be made quickly to the restaurant but has announced they would be open for take out and delivery services.
