Residents of Oakwood came out in full force this weekend to participate in a fun run for charity. The event, which was organized by a local community group, aimed to raise funds for a range of local charities and causes.
The fun run kicked off early on Saturday morning, with participants gathering at the town square to register and warm up. The race, which included a 5K and a 10K option, took participants through some of the town’s most scenic areas, including local parks and nature reserves.
“It was an amazing event, and we were thrilled to see so many people come out to support local charities and causes,” said event organizer, Maria Perez. “The turnout was incredible, and we are grateful for the support of everyone who participated and donated.”
Participants of all ages and abilities took part in the fun run, with many families and groups of friends running together to show their support for the community. Along the way, runners were cheered on by volunteers and local residents, who lined the streets to offer encouragement and support.
“I had a great time running with my family and friends, and it was so inspiring to see the community come together for such an important cause,” said local resident, John Thompson. “It really showed the power of our community to make a positive difference in the lives of others.”
At the end of the event, participants were treated to a range of food and drinks, as well as live music and entertainment. The organizers of the event announced that they had raised over $10,000 for local charities and causes, and expressed their gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the success of the event.
“We are so grateful to everyone who participated and donated to make this event such a success,” said Perez. “It was truly a community effort, and we are proud of what we were able to achieve together.”
