Simpson County Teen Critically Injured by Drunk Driver

Local Simpson county high school student and captain of the football team, Jackson Green, has been struck by a drunk driver on his way home from his victory win against the bulldogs Friday night around 11pm. Green, who is 17 years old, was driving along the I-30 frontage road in his blue pick up truck whenever the gold SVU struck him head on traveling east bound. Green has been airlifted to the UMMC trauma center and is considered to be in critical condition at this time.

The driver has been identified as 38 year old Charlie Adams of Franklin county. Adams sustained minor injuries and has been arrested. Police have charged Adams with a DUI. The charge of vehicular manslaughter could be added to his arrest depending on the status of Green.
