We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Mary Johnson, a respected and beloved college professor, who passed away on May 12, 2023, at the age of 91. Dr. Johnson was a dedicated educator who inspired countless students during her long and distinguished career.

Dr. Johnson was born on November 1, 1931, in a small town in the Midwest, where she grew up and attended college. She earned her PhD in English literature and began teaching at a local college. Her passion for teaching and her love of literature inspired generations of students, many of whom went on to successful careers in academia and beyond.

Dr. Johnson was known for her kindness, her intelligence, and her dedication to her students. She was a mentor and a friend to many, always willing to listen and offer guidance. Her influence on her students and colleagues will be felt for many years to come.

Dr. Johnson is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as a large extended family and many friends and former students. A memorial service will be held on May 16, 2023, at the college where she taught for many years, to honor her life and her contributions to education. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a scholarship fund in Dr. Johnson's name, to support students pursuing degrees in English literature.
