It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jake Ellis, a skilled carpenter who was deeply loved by his family, friends, and community. Jake passed away on May 1, 2023, at the age of 62, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, craftsmanship, and dedication.
Jake was born on December 3, 1960, in a small town in Indiana. From a young age, he showed an interest in working with his hands and a talent for building things. After graduating from high school, Jake pursued his passion for carpentry, completing an apprenticeship program and earning his certification as a journeyman carpenter.
Throughout his life, Jake was known for his unwavering dedication to his craft and his commitment to excellence. He worked tirelessly on countless projects, from building homes to repairing bridges, and he always took pride in his work. Jake's skill and expertise were evident in the many beautiful and functional structures he helped to create over the years.
In addition to his work as a carpenter, Jake was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was married to his wife, Emily, for 38 years, and they raised two children together. Jake was a loving and supportive father who was always there for his children, offering guidance, support, and encouragement. He was a proud grandfather who adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
Jake's kindness, generosity, and unwavering work ethic touched the lives of countless people. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A memorial service celebrating Jake's life will be held on May 5, 2023, at the local community center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity that supports the education and training of young carpenters, a cause that was close to Jake's heart.
