It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Jane Williams, who passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 84. Jane was a former Broadway dancer who brought joy and grace to countless audiences over the course of her career.
Jane was born on July 10, 1938, in New York City, where she discovered her love for dance at a young age. She began her career as a Broadway dancer in the 1950s, where she quickly established herself as a talented performer. Jane danced in numerous productions over the years, including several Tony Award-winning shows, and was known for her elegance, grace, and infectious smile.
After retiring from the stage, Jane devoted herself to her family and her community. She was a beloved grandmother who loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jane was also an active member of her local church, where she volunteered her time and energy to several community outreach programs.
Jane will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of grace, kindness, and passion for life will live on. A celebration of Jane's life will be held on May 7, 2023, at the theater where she performed so many times over the course of her career. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a dance education program, to honor Jane's lifelong love of dance and her dedication to nurturing the next generation of performers.
