1945-2023
It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of John Smith, who peacefully left us on April 28, 2023, at the age of 78. John was born on January 3, 1945, in Boston, Massachusetts to his parents, Joseph and Mary Smith. He grew up in a close-knit family with his two younger sisters, Jane and Lisa.
John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He met his wife, Susan, in college, and they were married for 54 years. Together, they raised three children, Michael, Jennifer, and David. John was a loving and supportive father, always putting his family first. He instilled in his children the importance of hard work, dedication, and kindness.
John had a successful career as a software engineer, working for various tech companies throughout his life. He was highly regarded by his colleagues for his intelligence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Even after retirement, John continued to pursue his passion for technology, always staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field.
In his free time, John enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was an avid reader and loved to discuss politics, economics, and world events. John had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, always making those around him laugh.
John is survived by his wife, Susan, his three children, and five grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A celebration of John's life will be held on May 5, 2023, at St. Mary's Churchn. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, a cause that was important to John.
